QBO: Create & Export Profit & Loss by Class (One File per Class)

Goal​

Export one Profit & Loss by Month file for each Class you want to analyze in BizVisualizer.

Step 1: Start with your saved P&L Totals report​

  1. Go to Reports → Custom Reports
  2. Open your saved PL by Month (Totals) report

Step 2: Customize with a Class filter​

  1. Click Customize
  2. Add a Filter
  3. Select Class
  4. Make sure Equals is set
  5. Choose one Class (e.g., Commercial)

Step 3: Export to Excel​

Export and save the file with the Class name included, for example:

PL 2024-01 to 2026-01 - Commercial.xlsx

Step 4: Save as a new report (important)​

Use Save As, not Save. If you click Save, you’ll overwrite your Totals report.

  1. Click the dropdown next to Save
  2. Choose Save As
  3. Rename the report to include the Class (e.g., PL by Month - Commercial)
  4. Save it into your BizVisualizer group

Repeat for each Class.
